The feeding Missions are ongoing. The children in the communities around Valencia, and in the Mountain villages beyond, are always in need of healthy food. We are bound by our faith to give food when we can, especially so that they are able to learn from the teaching that the volunteers give.

Although there is schooling available to all children in the area of Valencia, the level of teaching is sadly inadequate, and many parents cannot afford the costs of sending their children to school. There are very large classes and reduced  one to one attention, the children with abilities do not have the chance to succeed in normal education. The volunteers read with the children, teach small groups basic reading, writing and arithmetic, and spend valuable time with children who show promise.

Gifts are an important part of the charity’s work, especially in terms of pencils or drawing materials, work books for school and health gifts such as toothpaste, tooth brushes and soap. Reading books are too expensive, so stories are a gift in verbal form. 

Christmas is a special time for all children and the charity makes special efforts to try to make sure that each child has a Christmas gift to open.
